In January 2017 I began the process of rebranding VNA, one of the community's most trusted healthcare providers. With over a year's worth of research and almost a decade of Emspace's previous work for the client, we arrived at a logo choice that balances advanced health technology with the personal, human touch of VNA.
As the logo was chosen, I created brand standards including logo variations and use, colors, photography and typography. VNA's dynamic new color palette encourages experimentation with combinations and gradients associated with brand values, while the type stays elegant, friendly and accessible.
VNA's brand launched in August 2017. By that time, I had designed and built an extensive website working alongside our developer, taking the chaos of their old website and developing structure and story. To achieve this, we held a website workshop with stakeholders, drawing on past user research and web accessibility standards as we moved into sketches, wireframes and design mockups.
Simultaneously, I designed the 2016 annual report. Like the website, the report's focus was telling the stories behind VNA's work. With vibrant gradients laid over full-bleed photos, the report made an impact in the community, winning at two different awards shows and setting the standards for VNA's print materials.
Along with brand, web and print, we also produced video spots including an :90 overview for the brand launch as well as :30 commercial spots for a handful of service lines. Having coached speech in the past, I was able to find and direct our voice talent as the new "voice of VNA." I worked closely with our production studio to select music, set brand tone and direct final edits.
Thanks to Sarah Lake, Elizebeth Murphy, Thad Thomas, Kristin Neemann, Angie Hempel, Lynn Schneider, Caryn Hohnholt, Jamie Summerfelt, Rilla Eaton, Carole Patrick, Malone & Co. and everyone who's helped VNA shape tomorrow's care, today.
